LATEST: eXTEND #YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
Schoolwide Social & Emotional Wellbeing Our most challenging and exciting programme yet!! CrossNet is currently partnering with three schools running a pilot Resilience Programme to help address the current mental health crisis confronting so many of our youth. CrossNet Community Workers are not involved in crisis intervention but work with youth to build wellness and resilience so they will not end up facing a mental health crisis. Our programme works on the belief that our communities have great resources to build wellness. The problem is that there is a disconnect between the need and the solution. We have learned from international experts that proven outcomes are the result of a Schoolwide Social & Emotional Wellbeing Programme (SSEW). Working in partnership with the school leaders we establish a SSEW. This programme reaches into every aspect of school life and into the classroom to promote wellness. The programme also establishes important links to the wider community. Each school establishes its own unique 5 year plan to build resilience and mental wellbeing in students. CrossNet has formed a strategic partnership with Lions Clubs (NZ) and are using the highly acclaimed life skills course, LIONS QUEST: Skills for Adolescence. All teachers in our partner schools are fully trained to use this curriculum in the classroom. This programme is used in over 90 countries and has proven and measurable results. Following evaluation of the pilot our programme will be expanded to other schools. |

COMMUNITY YOUTH WORKER
For over 20 years, CrossNet male and female youth workers have partnered with students and teachers in an informal social relationship. These one on one sessions prove to be highly valuable times to assist in the formation of values and life skills in the critically important early teen years. Our community youth workers have also run social programmes for youth, camps and specific training events.
