Schoolwide SEL
Evidence Based Results
eXTEND is our Schoolwide SEL programme incorporating the acclaimed Lions Quest: Skills for Adolescence curriculum. Social and emotional Learning (SEL) is the proven response to the growing mental health problem in our youth. A sustainable remedy will not be found in focussing only on therapeutic responses, but also in evidence based programmes to build mental resilience.
EFFECTIVE SEL PROGRAMME
An effective Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) programme includes a timetabled student SEL curriculum. BUT IT IS MUCH MORE THAN THIS. . .
Experts advise that the above results are only achievable when a school wide approach results in social and emotional support for the adults in the school (starting with the staff).
A schoolwide SEL progamme extends to parents/caregivers/whanau and is central to the school climate and culture. It is driven by school leadership following a unique SEL PLAN prepared in collaboration with the school body linking to wider community groups to provide a greater level of support to the school.
A CrossNet advisor will assist your school to establish their unique plan, to implement the plan and to evaluate results. If you prefer a curriculum other than the proven and tested Skills for Adolescence, we will assist you to incorporate those lessons into your schoolwide SEL Plan. LEARN MORE...
